I have taught in a well known high school district in suburban Chicago for nearly 33 years. It is time to finally "graduate." I'd like to share the experiences and stories of these last months. All names, other than mine, will be changed to protect the innocent and guilty.

Timeout?!
Yesterday I had to send one of my sophomores to "timeout." Fifteen years old, over 6' tall, and an athlete. He made a scene because somebody was looking at him!

When I was in grade school, I had some really different, and really interesting teachers, but I never wanted to be one. When I was in high school, I thought that teaching would be the worst possible occupation. Then, after working in business for a while, I ended up in grad school preparing to become a high school business teacher. 32 1/2 years later, here I am!
